How will I get my itinerary?
Custom Holidays will send you the itinerary for your trip (for one day trips) one week before the trip date. Passengers can expect to receive an email with your pickup location/time, information about the trip, as well as the drop-off location/time. Your pickup location will be the same as your drop-off location unless noted otherwise. If we do not have an email address for you, we will give you your itinerary via telephone call.
How much do I need to pay to secure my seat on the trip?
To avoid disappointments please make reservations early. All trips are on a first-come first serve basis. We offer $10 non-refundable deposits on all one-day trips. Many extended trips allow designated deposits at the time of registration. Please look on the reservation form on your flyer for deposit/payment amounts and due dates. If you have not paid in full for the trip before the final due date, your name will be taken off of the list.
How many people will be on my trip?
We usually have between 35-55 passengers on most one-day trips. Multi-day trips range from 5-35 passengers. We always take special care to ensure that all of our passengers get an exciting and first-class experience, no matter how many people are on the trip!
What if I have special dietary requirements?
We can usually accommodate most dietary requirements for included meals on our trips. Please make a note of any restrictions/requirements on your trip reservation form.
Where will I be picked up for my trip?
The pick-up locations for each trip are not determined until 10 days before the trip date. We base our pick-up locations on how many people are traveling from that certain geographical area. Our policy is that we require a minimum of 10 people to have a pickup in that city. However, we do our best to ensure that our clients do not have to travel far to get to a pickup point. We also take special care to make sure that your vehicle will be left in a safe, public location while you are on our trip.
Will coach traveling be relaxing?
We ensure your comfort when travelling by planning plenty of rest stops during each journey. There's also an on-board wash room on all touring coaches. Everyone gets to enjoy the great views, while travelling head and shoulders above the other traffic. By leaving the driving to us you avoid wasted time planning routes and negotiating traffic. We'll even take care of the expensive items like refueling, paying tolls and parking charges, and more! Enjoy a movie or video on our longer trips!
Is there an age limit to travel with Custom Holidays?
Although we specialize in trips for senior citizens, we welcome people of all ages to join us on our tours! Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
What are the physical requirements and pacing on my tour?
Tour pacing varies by itinerary, and each destination's sightseeing and activities are unique. Pacing is subject to personal interpretation.
The Tour Activity Level Ranking is featured on each trip flyer in a circle.
Level 1: At a very leisurely pace, this tour involves minimal physical activity, such as climbing some stairs, boarding a motorcoach, and walking from the hotel reception area to hotel rooms and dining areas. Most Level 1 tours would include dinner and a show.
Level 2: This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and cobblestoned streets. Most level 2 tours would include a guided tour with some walking (less than a mile), shopping, optional walking activities and other similar activities.
Level 3: This tour includes moderate physical activity. For multi-day trips, the itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs or on uneven walking surfaces should be expected. Most Level 3 tours would include guided tours with walking distances up to a mile or up to an hour at a time (at a very leisurely pace). This tour would also include optional activities that would require additional walking.
Level 4: To truly experience the program and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and periods of standing. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening. Most Level 4 tours would include guided tours with walking distances over a mile long (at a leisurely pace) or over one hour at a time.
Level 5: This tour is very active, requiring participants to be physically fit to fully enjoy all the experiences. This itinerary has more strenuous activities which may include things such as: extensive walking tours, transfers over uneven and dusty terrain, high altitudes, early morning departures, late night activities, or extreme conditions. All conditions do not apply to all days, so please read the itinerary carefully and speak to one of our representatives to find out if this tour is right for you. Unfortunately, this tour is not appropriate for individuals who use either walkers or wheelchairs.
